VoltStorage and Kreutz EMV GmbH Extend EMC Optimization Partnership

VoltStorage is extending its successful collaboration with the consultancy company Kreutz EMV in order to further optimize the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of its redox flow batteries.

Certified engineer (FH) Martina Kreutz draws on her 25 years of EMC experience to assist businesses with the planning, development, and certification of EMC-compliant products and systems. The consultancy company founded by her, Kreutz EMV, is one of the most renowned authorities in this field in Germany.

The two companies’ collaboration began in early 2023, with Kreutz EMV offering advice on development of the VoltStorage storage solution products and taking its employees through a mentoring and further training program. The declared goals of this partnership are to achieve certification of the VoltStorage VDIUM C50 commercial battery in early 2024 and to train further team members. Potential areas of improvement in product development were identified in an EMC qualification pretest already conducted, and solution steps were then initiated.

Bernhard Mayr, Head of Engineering at VoltStorage, explains: “We put our faith in the expertise of Kreutz EMV from the very beginning of development of our new VDIUM C50 redox flow energy storage unit. We found an outstanding partner in Ms. Kreutz, with whose comprehensive knowledge and dedication we can further advance our vision of sustainable, clean energy storage.”

EMC qualification is especially important for companies in the field of renewable energy storage. It ensures that batteries function stably in an electromagnetically influenced environment, work reliably, and do not cause harmful electromagnetic disruptions.

EMC qualification from Kreutz EMV demonstrates the importance that VoltStorage attaches to aspects like quality and product safety. In addition to collaborating with Kreutz EMV for EMC qualification, VoltStorage works with other experts in areas such as water protection (Federal Water Act; WHG), CE compliance, etc. to ensure that its storage solutions meet the most stringent quality requirements.
