In parallel with the company´s relocation to its new and expanded facilities in September, energy storage specialist VoltStorage is also expanding its organizational structure. It marks the next stage in the company's development, elevating previous efforts in innovation, business development, and research & development to a new strategic level.

Co-Founder and former CTO Michael Peither is taking on the newly created CIO position. He will focus on innovation and business development. The former COO, Verena Graf, will succeed him as new CTO of the company. New to VoltStorage, Michael Reinartz, former Vice President Production & Logistics at solar energy specialist Sonnen GmbH, will assume the role of COO, overseeing production organization, warehousing, and logistics. He will be responsible for establishing the mass production of the redox flow storage solutions.

With the expansion of the leadership team and the redefinition of the respective areas of expertise, the company is now able to further advance its growth strategy, characterized by the development of two technologies in the field of redox flow batteries. Based on vanadium redox flow technology, VoltStorage develops and manufactures stationary storage solutions for commercial and industrial enterprises, while redox flow storage systems based on iron salt technology are being developed for large-scale and grid applications for energy providers and utilities. Both storage media are considered environmentally friendly alternatives to other battery materials, enabling particularly sustainable storage solutions for renewable energy.

Jakob Bitner, Co-Founder and CEO of VoltStorage, sees the company well-positioned for future growth with a reinforced focus on innovation and an expanded leadership team: "Our commitment as innovation leaders in redox flow storage drives us to consistently think and act with foresight. This includes dynamically developing the entire company and laying the foundations for further growth and success. We are therefore proud to have gained Michael Reinartz, a proven industry expert, as new COO. His expertise perfectly matches our need to further scale production and business development. At the same time, we are pleased that our previous leaders, Verena Graf and Michael Peither, can contribute their long-standing experience and expertise in newly tailored roles."

Michael Peither, Co-Founder and CIO of VoltStorage: "Following innovations, the latest trends, market opportunities, and technological advancements and helping to shape them are fundamental tasks that we, as innovation leaders in storage technologies for renewable energy, want to perform. With an excellent team of international experts, we are well positioned for this. Therefore, I am taking on the newly created position with great joy and motivation."

Verena Graf, CTO of VoltStorage: "In recent years, we have significantly moved the company forward and created an organization with which we are able to continue the current scale-up phase. I look forward to contributing to VoltStorage's growth and success through my responsibilities in product development and the expansion of technological leadership, driving the energy transition with our products."

Michael Reinartz, COO of VoltStorage: "For me, the young company VoltStorage has been known as an innovative and dynamic company for several years. It has achieved remarkable successes in the development and utilization of redox flow batteries. To now be part of this team and work together with colleagues to make the vision of 'renewable energy day and night' a reality is a real honor for me."

Additional Expansion in Finance and Marketing & PR departments

In parallel with the expansion of the management team, VoltStorage also expands on department-level. Since September 1, 2023, finance expert Carsten Wiese has been on board as Head of Finance and will expand the team with additional specialists. Also, since October 1, Pamela Kurz has joined the company as Head of Marketing & PR. She brings extensive communication experience from the manufacturing industry.
