VoltStorage expands Redox Flow battery stack production with experienced production team lead
Munich, September 28, 2020 – After receiving an investment volume of 6 million euros in July 2020, VoltStorage is laying new ground for further growth. As part of the continuous expansion of the series production of the eco-friendly VoltStorage SMART home energy storage system, the production of the patented Redox Flow battery stack is now being expanded with additional personnel. VoltStorage was able to win the production specialist Bernhard Wenzl as team lead of the Munich-based battery production.
Team lead in production as reinforcement for RedoxFlow battery stack production
During his more than 15 years with the company Jungheinrich Bernhard has gained extensive experience with efficient production and manufacturing processes. „With his experience and knowledge Bernhard fits perfectly to our team. The production of the patented Redox Flow battery stack is a complex technological process, which we and our team want to make even more efficient and further standardize. That’s why we were looking for a team lead for battery production who knows how to keep track of complex products, analyze weak points and drive improvements for the production process,“ explains VoltStorage CPO Felix Kiefl, who is also responsible for series production at VoltStorage.
The objective is the introduction of efficiency-boosting production processes
With the know-how of the experienced production specialist, VoltStorage hopes to gain new process impulses for the production of the technological core component of VoltStorage energy storage systems. „Our aim is to achieve significant efficiency gains in the short and medium term in terms of the output of the manufactured Redox Flow battery stacks by introducing new production processes and further developing existing ones,“ says VoltStorage CEO Jakob Bitner, explaining the strategic objective. In this way, important measures are to be taken on the production side to be able to meet the expected increase in orders in the coming year.
More about VoltStorage
VoltStorage develops and produces solar energy storage systems based on the ecological Redox Flow technology. With its sustainable storage solutions, VoltStorage follows the vision of making 100% renewable energies available around 24/7 – and thus making the world cleaner and fairer.
VoltStorage is the first company worldwide to make the Redox Flow Technology, which has been successful in the large storage segment for years, available as a home storage solution for private households. This was made possible by VoltStorage’s production process, for which a patent is pending. For the first time this allows automated and thus cost-effective production of Redox Flow batteries.
With the Redox Flow technology, the company can establish a storage technology in the mass market that is free from rare materials and conflicting raw materials, is completely recyclable and also has a high level of operational reliability and longevity.
