Review and Outlook: Success as a Commitment to the Future

As we at VoltStorage reflect on the past year, we can rightfully take pride in our achievements. We have further developed our organization, built broad expertise, and established sustainable resources for the future. We are working on the industrialization of innovative storage technologies, thus advancing the use of renewable energies.

Bigger, newer, under one roof: the new location in Munich North

The most visible milestone on this journey is the relocation to the new site in the Technology Park Munich North. All business areas and departments are now united, having five times the previous space. Here, our employees have access to state-of-the-art workstations tailored to their needs. At the core of this is our principle of promoting innovation and bringing it to life with passion, expertise, and commitment.

With innovation and secure technology

Our technologies provide independence from unstable supply chains, durability in performance, operational safety, and, thus, long-term planning capability. This is particularly crucial in a market exposed to various influences, both political and economic.

On the one hand, alongside the lukewarm declarations of intent from the COP28 World Climate Conference, in Germany we see government plans for cuts in the Climate and Transformation Fund, as well as in solar funding. These contribute to the uncertainty and doubt in the face of the necessary courage and determination. Where politics should provide guiding principles, companies are now called upon to make the transition and bring about the change.

On the other hand, it is positive that at least the funding through the Renewable Energy Act (EEG) and thus the expansion of photovoltaic systems should remain unaffected by the announced austerity plans. Additionally, the roadmap for implementing the Solar Package I and the planned measures for reducing bureaucracy in Germany will be maintained to further facilitate the expansion of solar energy.

The energy transition has already begun

It is a fact that this transition is already happening. According to estimates from the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) and the Federal Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW), renewable energy is expected to cover more than half of Germany's electricity consumption in 2023, reaching 52 percent, five percentage points higher than the previous year, with an upward trend. There is also movement in the regulatory environment for battery storage, which is expected to be clarified by the German government through the development of a storage strategy.

The progress will continue, and so will we—continuing to grow and explore markets for our work that can harness the benefits of renewable energies. The year 2023 forms the foundation and starting point for everything that will come in the new year. Let's tackle it together.
