VOLTSTORAGE EXTENDS DEPARTMENT FOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Staff increase enables development of new services for energy storage owners and sales partners

Munich, April 2, 2020 – With its eco-friendly Redox Flow energy storage systems, VoltStorage relies on battery solutions “Made in Germany”. This also includes all IT and software solutions required for the installation, operation and monitoring of the VoltStorage systems. One example is the VoltStorage App, which gives battery owners access to all important data about their home battery, PV system, power consumption and CO2 savings. Helpful software services were also developed for sales and installation partners, such as the online remote maintenance system, which enables an ongoing analysis of all system components, or the digital installation tool, which can be used to semi-automate the installation of VoltStorage systems. To further optimize the battery and power management of its energy storage solutions and to provide new software services, VoltStorage has extended its IT and software department.

Experienced software engineer joins IT and software development

With Frank Listing, VoltStorage was able to win an experienced software engineer, who brings a broad know-how to the company with more than 20 years of professional experience. “The job profile for this position was very challenging, as we were looking for someone who could cover the many different project and development areas and bring in-depth knowledge in both embedded software development and full-stack web development,” said David Bauske, Head of IT at VoltStorage. Frank worked for several years as a software engineer at Siemens and has recently been engaged in a business consulting group, where he was responsible for a wide range of IT and software projects. “We are very happy to bring even more speed into our development projects with Frank,” says David Bauske.

New software solutions planned for battery owners and sales partners

With the extension of the IT and software department, VoltStorage now has the necessary resources to start software developments already in the pipeline. One focus will be the connection to external monitoring systems. “With the VoltStorage App, we offer our customers our own data monitoring, but we are increasingly receiving requests to monitor the battery performance via third-party systems. We want to satisfy this demand in the future,” says David Bauske, Head of IT.

In addition, the development of an online portal for sales and installation partners is planned. This portal will enable sales and installation partners to manage forwarded customer requests, execute orders and remote maintenance tasks, and receive in-depth information on new product features and software updates. “We want to offer our specialist partners a digital contact point, where all sales and technical tasks are covered,” explains VoltStorage CEO Jakob Bitner.

More about VoltStorage

VoltStorage develops and produces solar energy storage systems based on ecological Redox Flow technology. With its sustainable storage solutions, VoltStorage follows the vision of making 100% renewable energies available around 24/7 – and thus making the world cleaner and fairer.

The Redox Flow technology has has proven itself in the bulk-scale storage market for years. However, VoltStorage is the first company worldwide to make the Redox Flow technology available as a home storage solution for private households. This was made possible by VoltStorage’s production process, for which a patent is pending. For the first time this allows automated and thus cost-effective production of Redox Flow batteries.

With Redox Flow technology, the company is establishing a storage technology in the mass market which is free from rare or conflicting raw materials, is completely recyclable and offers high operational reliability and longevity.
